Seabird expert, author, artist, and conservationist, Peter Harrison, shares why he is joining Flock to Marion AGAIN! 2025 and why you should do the same!

In March 2024, Peter Harrison visited the Mouse-Free Marion Project office in Cape Town. Peter was named first Patron for the Project which aims to remove introduced mice from Marion Island.

In February 2011, Peter Harrison organized and led the five-person international expedition team that made a remarkable discovery, the Pincoya Storm-Petrel, Oceanites pincoyae.

In an ambitious undertaking, the Mouse-Free Marion Project aims to remove the introduced House Mice which are endangering the long-term survival of the seabirds and other native species of South Africa’s sub-Antarctic Marion Island.

As the project’s first Patron, I am pleased to offer my support toward the Mouse-Free Marion Project that will help conserve the albatrosses and petrels of Marion Island which desperately need our protection and stewardship.
