Ocean Nomads: The Albatrosses
Peter Harrison presents “Ocean Nomads: The Albatrosses” at two Pacific Northwest events
Largest of all flying birds with lifespans that match those of humans, albatrosses are the most itinerant of all life forms, capable of flying more than 1,000 miles a day and over 8.5 million miles in their lifetimes. Peter will discuss the fascinating biology of these ocean nomads, what makes an albatross so unique, and why we must act now to protect these extraordinary seabirds and their ocean home.
I am honored to have been selected by the Port Townsend Marine Science Center as a featured speaker in their Future of Oceans lecture series. On Sunday, March 30, I’ll be taking the stage at Fort Worden’s Wheeler Theater to present “Ocean Nomads: The Albatrosses.” If you can’t make it to the Port Townsend event, you will have another opportunity to hear my lecture at the Kitsap Audubon Society’s monthly gathering on Wednesday, April 9 at the Kitsap Regional Library, Poulsbo, Community Room.
